3. How we use information
We use information to perform the service you request, maintain security, enforce the Terms, review poetry submissions, respond to support requests, comply with law, and improve reliability. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these activities rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service, your consent for optional device permissions, and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use poem text, account data, or support messages to train our own or a third party's general-purpose artificial intelligence models.
4. Service providers and international processing
We use a limited set of processors to operate Verselet:
- Cloudflare provides network delivery, security, Workers, and D1 database services.
- Apple and Google process authentication when you choose their sign-in option. Their own privacy policies also apply to their services.
- Resend sends email sign-in codes from our verified domain. Message dispatch is configured for Tokyo; Resend account data, email metadata, logs, and API records are stored in the United States. Resend states that email data is retained for 30 days. Open and click tracking are disabled for Verselet sign-in messages.
These providers may process information outside your country. We use appropriate contractual and technical safeguards where required by law. We will update this policy before enabling a new translation, moderation, advertising, analytics, or error-monitoring provider that receives personal data.
5. Retention
We keep account, profile, and published-content information while your account remains active. Session and verification records expire or are removed when no longer needed for authentication and security. Support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and meet legal obligations.
When you delete your account, Verselet removes the active account record, login identities, sessions, profile, authored poems, and associated review records. Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted provider recovery systems or where retention is required by law; they are not used as active Verselet data and are removed according to the provider's recovery cycle.
6. Your choices and rights
- Use Verselet as a guest for read-only browsing.
- Change the app language and optional profile information in Settings.
- Control photo and camera permissions in your device settings.
- Report content or block an account using the controls in the app.
- Delete your account in the app under Settings → Privacy & permissions → Delete account.
Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and may withdraw consent. You may complain to your local data protection authority. We may ask for proportionate verification before acting on a request and generally respond within 30 days, subject to applicable law.
7. Children
Verselet is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their country. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
8. Security
Verselet uses encrypted transport, platform-protected storage for the mobile session token, hashed server-side session tokens, short-lived one-time codes, rate limiting, and access controls. No service can guarantee absolute security; please contact us if you believe your account or information is at risk.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as Verselet changes. We will post the revised date here and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects your choices.
